While most Americans are saving more and spending less during this economic downturn, the faux Republicans at Lubbock County have decided to follow the federal government by increasing taxes and spending more.
Owners of a home valued at $101,000 will pay more than $16 more in county and hospital district taxes this year, according to appraised values and the new tax rates.
Anyone making civil litigation filings in Lubbock County will pay a $10 fee to the county clerk.
Residents convicted in a criminal trial will pay an additional $4 fee.
I endorsed blue dog Democrat Col. John Miller against RINO Bill McCay for precisely this reason. Hopefully, a true conservative will step up to the plate and run against the “tax and spend” RINO incumbents.
